SUP Lessons for Beginners
SUP Lessons for Women (and the men who love them)
Come check out the fun new sport popularized by Laird Hamilton! An ancient form of surfing from the Hawaiian Islands, stand up paddle boarding has reemerged as a way for people to enjoy oceans, lakes, rivers and bays using a one-bladed paddle and standing on a longer and wider surfboard with a bit more volume. While it is a wonderful full body work-out for everyone (from the most athletic to the least), SUP also does wonders for the mind as you paddle through gorgeous scenery, on your own or with a group of friends.
Our SUP lessons make learning easy – and are also a lot of fun! No previous experience is necessary. This is more than a lesson, it’s an adventure that builds your confidence and challenges your body as you learn stand up paddling! To learn this sport quickly and correctly, we encourage you to take lessons from our professional staff, all experienced and enthusiastic paddleboarders. They'll have you up and paddling on flat water within an hour.
All our lessons are 60 minutes and include board, paddle and life vest.

For those who prefer stand up paddling on their own, Paddle Diva offers SUP rentals (Hamptons location).
- Thursdays and Saturdays we offer SUP Yoga classes, combining traditional yoga postures with the added component of floating on a stand up paddleboard in flat water!
What you will learn:
Flat bay/open ocean techniques, board steering and turning, ocean/wind awareness, proper stroke for speed on water, and core building. Paddleboarding is very easy to learn, and our lessons are done on the water, with minimal time standing on the beach. With about an hour of instruction you can be up on a board, paddling and cruising along! After just a few lessons, you will develop better balance and coordination as well as building your strength and endurance.
More advanced board maneuvering can be learned with continued instruction but is totally optional. Unlike the more technical sports, you can excel right out of the gate!
Where you will learn:
We offer stand up paddling lessons in the Hamptons, Amagansett, Sag Harbor, Sagaponak, and Noyak. See our list of SUP Long Island locations for directions. The beautiful waterways of Eastern Long Island provide the perfect setting to get started enjoying standup paddling.
Private stand up paddle lessons can be arranged in a location of your choosing (within proximity to Paddle Diva SUP Hamptons). There is a $25 travel fee each way if we go to a spot specified by you or your group.
What it costs:
Group lesson (6-8): $75 per person
Group lessons can be customized to meet the needs of your party, so give us a call to discuss the special program for your group.
Four-five person private class: $90 per person
Two- Three person private class (2-3): $100 per person
Single person private lesson: $150 or $200 with Gina or Scott
*There is a $25 travel fee each way if we go to a spot specified by you or your group.
How to sign up:
Reservations are necessary. First, check our schedule (which we update daily) to determine the type of lessons or classes best suited to you and your group. We offer a variety of private or group lessons and classes, for beginners through more experienced paddlers.

Other information to note:
PLEASE show up 10-15 minutes prior to your class time as a courtesy to others.
As with all watersports, wind and weather may require us to change our SUP lesson times and locations.
